The Forty Elephants: A Real Gang of Extraordinary Women
Steven Knight combined two intriguing tales to create A Thousand Blows. One was the story of boxer Hezekiah Moscow, and the other was about the all-female gang, The Forty Elephants. Knight quipped, “A story about a Jamaican boxer and a gang of female thieves? That’s a match made in drama heaven!”
