Living in New Zealand: A Guide For Digital Nomads

“They say you can’t buy happiness, but you can buy a ticket to New Zealand, and that’s pretty close!” As someone who hails from the UK, New Zealand was always more than just a dream—it was practically the other side of the world! And now, having lived the digital nomad life there, I can confirm it’s as magical as it sounds.

About New Zealand

Imagine a place where every corner seems to have been painted by a master artist. That’s New Zealand for you. This island nation in the Pacific is a paradise for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts alike. With over 5 million friendly faces calling it home, you’ll feel as welcome as a Hobbit in the Shire. And yes, the WiFi is great—so no worries about having to channel your inner Bear Grylls to find a hotspot.

Living in New Zealand As a Digital Nomad (Personal Experience)

During my month-long stint as a digital nomad, I split my time between house sitting in Auckland, exploring the North Island, and adventuring through the South Island. Let me tell you, even some of the most remote towns here are better equipped for digital nomads than my local café back home!

Stay tuned as I share some of the best coworking spaces and cafes that were my sanctuaries during this journey. Despite being over ten thousand miles from home, I always felt like I was just a Skype call away from my family and friends.

Is New Zealand Safe?

If safety were a country, it would be New Zealand. Crime rates are low, and the locals are as friendly as a Golden Retriever at a dog park. And unlike its Australian cousin, New Zealand’s most dangerous wildlife might just be the sheep that block your hiking path. But be aware, the country is on the Pacific Ring of Fire, so earthquakes are a part of life here.
